The upgrade of the MALTA DMAPS designed in Tower 180 nm CMOS Imaging process will implement numerous modifications, as well front-end changes order to boost charge collection efficiency after targeted fluence 1x1015 1MeVneq/cm2. effectiveness these have been demonstrated recent measurements with a small-scale Mini-MALTA demonstrator chip. Multiple digital periphery are proposed: asynchronous address generator be revised provide more control over pulse length. Synchronization memory upgraded goal achieving sub-nanosecond timing resolution. Serial chip data transfer prototyped, gauge plausibility implementation on future full sized Apart from changes, research overall sensor architecture discussed well.
